Milota Sidorová is among the most influential voices in the field of urban development in Slovakia and across Central Europe. In the past, she successfully advocated for changes to the Spatial Planning Act and co-created Slovakia’s first Architectural Policy. She has long collaborated with cities and government institutions and currently also works as an expert for the European Commission. Her work is therefore not only academic or advocacy-based, but directly shapes legislation and public policy.
As a Fulbright Scholar, she worked at CUNY in New York and completed the Cambridge Leading Sustainability programme. She has served on juries of international competitions and, in 2019, was nominated for Personality of Architecture in Slovakia.
She combines a feminist perspective with urban planning practice and advocates that fairer cities do not emerge by chance — but as a result of well-designed systems and the right questions being asked.
