Emotions: Why Do They Influence Us More Than We Think? Social psychologist Iva Poláčková Šolcová and Slovak singer Adam Ďurica will explore this topic in Michael’s Mashup. How do emotions work on stage? And what emotions does music awaken in us? Expect both serious topics and lighter segments, so you will hopefully learn something new and have some fun along the way.

Michael’s Mashup. A talk show with a twist! Two guests. One moderator. And their interaction. A mashup is a genre of its own. Guests as you’ve never seen them before. A meeting of two worlds. A mashup of guests, genres, performers and audience, all in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

At Meltingpot, we’ll be creating a mashup of science and art! In collaboration with the Czech Academy of Sciences, each festival day will bring together scientists and artists for unique conversations and encounters.

Iva Poláčková Šolcová is a Czech social psychologist affiliated with the Institute of Psychology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University. Her research focuses on affective processes, motivation, cross-cultural psychology, and lifespan development.

Adam Ďurica is a Slovak singer and songwriter best known for hits such as Zatancuj si so mnou and Mandolína. He is a three-time recipient of the OTO Award in the Singer of the Year category.

Michael Rozsypal is a journalist and moderator and the creator of the talk show Michael’s Mashup. He spent two years as a host at DVTV and eight years at Czech Radio before that. Today, he moderates conferences, panel discussions, social events, and concerts in Prague and across the Czech Republic.
