Iva Poláčková Šolcová

Social psychologist at the Czech Academy of Sciences specialising in emotions and emotion regulation.

Her research focuses on psychological resilience, exploring why some people cope with crises, stress, and uncertainty better than others, as well as how psychological processes differ across cultures and societies. As part of the Czech Journey to Space national programme, she studies life in extreme environments characterised by isolation and confinement, including the International Space Station and Antarctica.
