She has interviewed Madeleine Albright, Brad Pitt, and Jan Tříska. Since 2015, Monika Zavřelová has focused on interviews with personalities from both the Czech and international cultural scene. She has also been contributing to the culture sections of iDNES.cz and MF DNES, where she has conducted hundreds of interviews both on camera and in person. She also led the section for six years.
Her favourite interviews include conversations with Antonio Banderas, Tom Felton, and John Malkovich. Interview work regularly takes her abroad, to film festivals and Hollywood. What she enjoys most, however, are live talks and events where she can meet audiences in person.
She became interested in cultural journalism as a teenager and later studied journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University while also working in the newsroom of Echo24.cz. She is the creator of the project Rozhovory Moniky Zavřelové, available on streaming platforms.
