She creates oil-on-canvas works that inhabit the space between surrealism and symbolism. Her artistic inquiry delves into the subconscious, magic, and folklore. Her paintings, however, are neither frightening nor dark – they often contain humour and a touch of absurdity, which lightens the themes with natural exaggeration. Klára is a synesthete – she perceives days, letters, numbers, and sounds as colours or abstract shapes. Combined with hyperfantasy, her mind is thus highly visual.
She is a finalist of the BBA Artist Prize 2019 (Germany) and Mostyn Open 21 (UK). She regularly exhibits abroad; last year, she opened solo exhibitions in Rome, Brussels, and Prague with a project of paintings inspired by the mysterious Voynich Manuscript and also took part in a group exhibition in Leipzig. Her 2026 schedule includes an upcoming exhibition in Denmark. Her art is represented in private and public collections across Europe, Australia, the USA, and Japan.
As part of a collaboration with VSB-TUO, she is testing how artificial intelligence copes with human imagination. The project experimentally compares human (Klára’s) imagination with AI image generation.
