Electronic music doesn’t always have to aim for the dance floor. Sometimes it unfolds slowly, like a scene from a film gradually taking shape before your eyes. Gentle ambient textures, deep tones and evolving rhythms create an atmosphere that can feel almost meditative one moment and then suddenly gain the pull of dance-driven electronics. It’s music that doesn’t follow a single tempo or mood – instead it lets you pause for a moment and then draws you back into motion.
YUBASS, whose real name is Nuttaphon Lerswanuswong, comes from a classical background – he is a double bassist who has performed with orchestras in Bangkok and Singapore. At Colours he will appear twice: once with a more meditative ambient set and once with a more club-oriented electronic performance. Two different approaches, one shared signature: an ambient cinematic experience.
