Sean Coughlin

Canadian philosopher and historian of science.

Between his studies, he worked as a chef for a year in order to better understand culinary metaphors in Aristotle’s biological writings. He also contributed to the reconstruction of Queen Cleopatra’s perfume, which was later presented at the Queens of Egypt exhibition at the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C. In the Czech Republic, he led the Alchemy of Fragrances project, which focused on reconstructing perfumes from the ancient world.
