QUEEN OMEGA

Reggae rooted in the Caribbean open to the world and the present.

She is one of the most distinctive figures of the global reggae and roots scene of the past two decades. Born in San Fernando, Trinidad, the singer grew up on the music of Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston, as well as on the soca genre. Over a career spanning nearly a quarter of a century, she has earned respect for her authentic expression, conscious lyrics and her natural ability to blend reggae, dancehall, soul and jazz. Over time, she has written herself into the history of roots reggae as a strong female presence with a clear stance and a powerful musical signature, despite not being a Jamaican native.

Queen Omega draws inspiration in her work from life experience, faith, questions of human freedom and relationships, which is why listeners are able to deeply connect with her songs. After a several-year break, she returned to the scene with the album Stars Align and in 2023 opened a new chapter of her career with Freedom Legacy – a record conceived as a legacy for her fans and her children, a collection of thoughts on independence, female strength and hope for future generations. With the track No Love Dubplate from the same year, she attracted wider attention, including from the music scene and names such as Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. She will arrive in Ostrava with her band The Royal Souls, delivering a concert built on energy, confidence and music with deep roots and a contemporary pulse. Peace!
