Petr Zelenka: Žáby (starring Ivana Trojan)

Comedy by Petr Zelenka, which actor Ivan Trojan gave himself for his sixtieth birthday. After they collaborated on The Story of Ordinary Madness, Theremin, and The Elegance of the Molecule, Trojan teamed up with Zelenka again for an exclusive confession of an elite film props master, who preferred objects to people – until SHE came along.

The story of a man at the peak of a personal crisis, a neglected star in his field, torn between his love for an unattainable woman and a lifelong fascination with objects and props. All characters and props are fictional. More or less. For both Petr Zelenka and Ivan Trojan, this is their first experience with a monodrama. However, the creators quickly discovered an effective way to work together, and according to the director, the rehearsal process was joyful and smooth. Ivan Trojan approached the preparations responsibly, and thanks to a very precise text-learning plan, he soon mastered the eighty-minute monologue. The quality has already been confirmed by the audiences of dozens of sold-out performances, and the experience will be shared by visitors to this year’s Colours of Ostrava.
