He studied economics, metallurgy, and materials engineering, and built his career in financial leadership roles, first as Financial Director and later Chief Executive Officer of Válcovny trub Ostrava, followed by the position of Financial Director at Třinecké železárny. In 2014, he assumed responsibility for the entire group. He also serves as General Manager of HC Oceláři Třinec, Chairman of HC Frýdek-Místek, and a member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Economics at VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava.
He speaks openly about what decarbonisation means in practice and warns that, in its current form, the Green Deal could lead to a paradoxical outcome: Europe may reduce its own production while global emissions remain unchanged.
