He is a researcher in the Department of Functional Analysis and Differential Equations at the Institute of Mathematics of Silesian University in Opava. His research focuses on numerical ranges of matrices, and he is also a passionate science communicator. He presents science to the broadest possible audience, giving talks at schools as well as at science festivals. He is a member of the first Czech chapter of the Mars Society.
