There are plenty of traps lurking online, from misinformation that destroys trust between people to cybercriminals who target our wallets. In between, we encounter aggressive adverts, paid-for influencers and hordes of anonymous accounts where we can’t be sure if there are real people behind them. Why does the internet seem like an increasingly wild place? And can we do anything about it?
