Ondřej Ruml

A familiar voice in a form you haven’t heard before

After a series of jazz-oriented records, Ondřej Ruml is coming with a new album set for release in February, one that brings him closer to himself. Already now, he is offering a taste of its direction – in the current single as well as in the overall shape of his new work. His collaboration with producer Igor Ochepovsky has opened up a new sonic space, blending elements of electropop and rock while retaining a strong alternative signature. The result is music that feels more personal and, at times, darker than what we have been used to from him so far.

Fifteen years after his first original debut – shaped in the meantime by a wide range of projects and collaborations – Ondřej Ruml is once again entering a new authorial chapter. He says himself that conventional themes have never attracted him, and that this collaboration finally gives him the feeling of having found a musical expression he has been searching for for a long time. The new songs place greater emphasis on emotion, voice, and atmosphere rather than on genre. At Colours, we will be able to hear Ondřej Ruml in a form that leaves more space for mood and personal expression – and to witness this transformation brought to life on stage.
