MgA. Mgr. Ondřej Durczak, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor and Scientific Secretary at the Institute of Creative Photography of Silesian University in Opava. He graduated from both the Institute of Creative Photography and the Institute of Physics at Silesian University, where he also completed his doctoral studies.
In his photographic work, he focuses primarily on the transformation of the post-industrial landscape of Northern Moravia and Silesia. He is the author of the photography books Ostrava in Retirement (2015), Karviná Region (2019, 2021), and Bruntál Region (2021). His theoretical work is devoted to the analysis and classification of photographic publications. In 2019, he received the Personality of Young Czech Photography Award from the Association of Professional Photographers.
