Lightly has created a portable device that fits into a briefcase and enables law enforcement officers to perform laboratory-grade analyses directly in the field. Within minutes, it can identify substances such as fentanyl, link related cases, and help trace the origin of seized drugs.
Štěpánová is currently expanding into the United States, building on meetings held in Silicon Valley and preparing the next phase of the company’s growth.
Lightly has secured USD 1.5 million in investments and grants, earned a golden ticket to free laboratory facilities at the prestigious HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology, and is currently testing its technology with police departments in Alabama. The startup has also attracted the interest of Interpol.
