Some bands spend their later years touring festivals on nostalgia alone. Mňága a Žďorp have a whole lot of hits behind them, but they also have fresh proof that they’re still going strong. Their album Hoříš? Hořím! won the Anděl Award for Group of the Year. This band from Valašské Meziříčí has had quite a year, and in 2027 they’ll celebrate four decades since they first got together. And as if that weren’t enough, their debut album Made in Valmez was voted the best Czech album of the 1990s in a poll of music journalists.
Some songs just stay with you throughout your life. Petr Fiala has written plenty of those for Mňága. “Hodinový hotel”, “I cesta může být cíl”, “Měsíc”, “Spaste svoje duše”… We could be here all night listing them. At Colours, we’ll get to revisit some old favourites alongside newer songs, and chances are that somewhere during the show, we’ll realise just how much we’ve been through with Mňága.
