Miloš Zapletal

Mgr. Bc. Miloš Zapletal, Ph.D. studied musicology and film studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno. From 2015 to 2018, he worked at the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, and since 2018 he has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Philosophy and Science of Silesian University in Opava. In addition to authoring the book Leoš Janáček and the Late National Revival in Moravia and dozens of scholarly studies, he is also a co-author of the first comprehensive history of Czech music written in English, to be published this year by Cambridge University Press. He is currently working on a book about Czech popular culture in the 1980s and 1990s.
