Assoc. Prof. Michal Málek, Ph.D., heads the Department of Real Analysis and Dynamical Systems at the Institute of Mathematics of Silesian University in Opava. He studied mathematics at Silesian University and earned his Ph.D. in 2002 with a dissertation on strong chaos in one-dimensional dynamical systems. From 2008 to 2010, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. His research focuses on discrete dynamical systems and chaos theory for one-dimensional maps.
