His research explores how the extreme physical conditions of the Universe, such as gravity, time, and radiation, influence the emergence and survival of life. How can life persist in environments that seem utterly inhospitable to humans? Michal Bursa seeks answers to questions about how black holes feed and how the most energetic phenomena in the Universe are created. In a sense, he translates Einstein’s equations into a picture of the real, dynamic Universe in its most extreme forms.
