He operates in the space where business meets politics, power, and responsibility. He is interested in how major decisions are made, who makes them, under what pressure, and with what consequences – not only for companies, but for society as a whole.
Dr. Martin Roman served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ÄŚEZ from 2004 to 2011, where he led a major transformation of the group, its international expansion, and key strategic decisions. Prior to that, he was involved in the restructuring of industrial companies such as Ĺ KODA HOLDING and Janka RadotĂn, and he has long been active in the international energy sector, including as a member of the board of MOL.
Alongside business, he has long been involved in education and philanthropy – he is behind the initiative Čtenà pomáhá and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PORG. At Meltingpot, he opens up themes of power, decision-making, and responsibility in the real world: what it means to lead a large institution in times of crisis, what compromises are actually made, and where personal comfort ends and responsibility for the consequences of one’s decisions begins.
