As a child, he took part in mathematics and physics competitions, but somewhere along the way, things took a different turn. He wrote his first article for a local newspaper, received sixty Czech crowns for it, and immediately knew he never wanted to do anything else. A surprisingly affordable origin story for a writing career, considering how publishing usually works.
Over the years, the articles were joined by books. He is the author of an acclaimed series of book interviews featuring personalities such as neurosurgeon VladimĂr Beneš, airline pilot David Hecl, murder investigator Josef Mareš, air rescue doctor Marek Dvořák, negotiator Adam DolnĂk and military psychologist Helena Sováková.
His book Mezi nebem a pacientem (“Between the Sky and the Patient”), written together with Marek Dvořák, received the Magnesia Litera prize. And a new book is on the way this year as well.
