Although his primary interests lie in theoretical modelling and the study of the fundamental properties of physical theories, he was also involved in the early planning of a future particle accelerator at CERN, envisioned as a 100-kilometre successor to the current Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Outside the world of physics, Marek plays the guitar and remains mildly disappointed that his band was never invited to perform at this festival.
