He is affiliated with the Faculty of Public Policies at Silesian University in Opava. His research focuses on political systems, political parties, and historical memory. He is the author of the monograph The League of Communists of Serbia in the Process of Transition and the Disintegration of Yugoslavia (2013), as well as numerous studies on political developments in the Balkans and Central Europe.
He also examines regional political elites in the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Czech-Polish borderland.
