Luboš Pick is a professor of mathematical analysis at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, where he teaches, conducts research, and supervises students. Since 2018, he has also served as President of the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists.
After graduating from Gymnázium Na Vítězné pláni and Charles University, he worked at the Mathematical Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, the University of Wales in Cardiff, and Brock University in Canada. He has been based at Charles University again since 1999. He is also a well-known mathematics popularizer, translator, and bass guitarist, performing with Asonance, Humbuk, The Dirty Raccoons, and Echolama. His interests include mathematics, music, history, and hiking.
