Libor Ansorge currently leads the research division at the T. G. Masaryk Water Research Institute. His expertise lies in the concept of the water footprint, which he not only studies but actively promotes as a tool for environmental assessment related to water use. He lectures on this topic at several Czech universities and publishes scientific papers focused on it.
Water fascinates him not only because it is essential for life, but also because it is nearly perfectly recyclable—yet we can still experience water scarcity. He has been involved in water management and addressing strategic issues related to water use since high school. Before becoming a researcher, he worked for river basin administrators and in public administration.
