Kristýna was born with spina bifida, but that has never stopped her from living an active life and pursuing sports. She lives by the motto: “Handicap is my life, not my problem.”
She began competitive mono-skiing at the age of twelve. In 2021, she took up para ice hockey and has now spent four seasons playing for Flamingos Ostrava in a mixed team. In the 2025/26 season, her team secured third place in the Czech Para Ice Hockey League.
In 2024, she represented Team World at the Women’s World Challenge in Norway, where she won a bronze medal. A year later, she took part in the first-ever Women’s World Championship in Para Ice Hockey in Dolný Kubín, again representing Team World. Looking ahead, she hopes to help establish a Czech women’s national para ice hockey team and one day represent the Czech Republic at the Winter Paralympic Games.
