He coordinates one of the largest industrial projects in the Czech Republic: the transformation of steel production at Třinecké železárny through the introduction of an electric arc furnace. With an investment of approximately CZK 25 billion, the project represents not only a technological change but also a crucial decision about the future of a steelworks that has shaped its region for more than 185 years.
After studying at Imperial College London, he returned to his home region of the Beskydy Mountains and joined Třinecké železárny in 2019. He started in strategic development and has been fully dedicated to innovation since 2023, from negotiating with technology suppliers and preparing tenders to securing financing. The goal of his work is to enable steel production with a significantly lower carbon footprint.
He approaches decarbonisation not as a theoretical concept but as a practical challenge involving concrete numbers, decisions, and compromises. He believes that the European debate needs more pragmatism and less ideology, and that real emissions reductions will come not through deindustrialisation but through modern and effective industrial solutions.
