A PhD student at VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava, Jakub Baca focuses on material degradation caused by thermal damage. He co-developed CalciTrace, a tool designed to assess the extent of damage to plasterboard after fires.
His work opens up new possibilities for evaluating buildings after critical incidents. As he likes to say: “Where the flames end, we begin.”
