How to Win Peace: What Determines if War is Followed by Stability or Another Conflict?

12:00 – 13:00 ČEZ GLOBAL STAGE

A panel discussion with political geographer Michael Romancov and journalist Jakub Szántó on why some conflicts end with agreements while others remain frozen.

What conditions must be met for a war to truly end—and who actually decides? We will look at current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as those concluded in the past year. Are there universal recipes, repeatable patterns, or even a “manual” for ending conflict? And what does history tell us about the moment when warring sides first begin to negotiate peace?

Guests: Michael Romancov, politický geograf a Jakub Szántó, novinář

The topic will be introduced by Andreas Papadopulos.

The discussion will be held in Czech.
