A fun project by friends with no ambitions. That’s how it started – and for a long time, that’s exactly how it stayed. Three personalities from completely different worlds: hip-hop legend Michal Opletal aka Orion, advertising director Giulio de Blasio, and architect Luboš Svoboda. Instead of a plan came irony, instead of strategy a game, and instead of rules the joy of doing everything their own way. Absurd pop, self-irony, “low art,” and provocation collide here and quickly found an audience across generations – especially among fans of politically incorrect fun. As they like to hint themselves: it was never meant to make sense – and that’s exactly why it works.
Gruppo Salsiccia will appear at Colours exclusively and straight in grand style. For the very first time, they will present their debut double album THE BEST OF GREATEST HITS in a special audiovisual show. Until now, the band had – with a few exceptions – refused to perform live. Released in November, the double album is a multi-year record of shared creation in a Prague underground studio and deliberately ignores trends and all “well-meant advice.” They do whatever they want. Their way. With no compromises. And so in July, Mia Barca will finally sail into Ostrava. Because when Gruppo Salsiccia says they’ll come – they come.
