Český rozhlas: Česká satira

13:30 – 14:30 GONG STAGE - MALÝ SÁL

How do you create a successful satirical show in today’s world? This is the question explored by Jiří Havelka, Ondřej Cihlář and Petr Prokop of the theatre collective Vosto5 in a series produced by Czech Radio Plus.

Ondřej Cihlář

Theatre director, dramaturg, moderator and lecturer. He is a co-founder and one of the key creative forces behind Divadlo Vosto5, where he works both as an actor and director of original productions.

He regularly hosts the programme Vizitka on Czech Radio Vltava and moderates numerous talk shows and award ceremonies, including MFDF Ji.hlava, the Křišťálová Lupa Awards and the Czech Film Critics’ Awards. He is also active in radio production; his interactive audio series Return ’68 received the 2018 Journalism Award.

Cihlář teaches at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU), focusing on contemporary trends in new circus. He is also the author of the books New Circus and Orbis Circus.

Jiří Havelka

Theatre and film director, playwright, actor and moderator. One of the leading figures of contemporary Czech devised theatre, he is closely associated with the Vosto5 collective and has collaborated extensively with major Czech theatre companies. He is the recipient of numerous theatre awards, including the Alfred Radok Award.

Havelka is also the writer and director of several acclaimed films, including his feature debut Owners, which received multiple Czech Lion nominations. After several years teaching at DAMU, he became Artistic Director of Dejvické Theatre in 2025.

Petr Prokop

Czech theatre producer, cultural manager and actor. He is a founding member and producer of the Vosto5 collective, where he serves as both a performer and organiser of artistic projects.

His work in cultural production includes involvement in international events such as the Prague Quadrennial and the leadership of the Vzlet cultural centre, where he served as Director and Artistic Director until 2025.

As an actor, he has also appeared in numerous films and television series, including Zátopek, Emergency Situation and Mars.
