An Ostrava-based singer and songwriter who avoids sticking to just one genre. Blending soul, R&B, pop, jazz and folk, she builds her music on experience rather than labels – from clubs in Berlin to returning home to Ostrava, where she spent a year busking in the streets. That journey naturally shaped her sound, which works both in intimate settings and on larger stages.
Barbara Kanyzová has made a strong mark on the local scene – becoming part of the duo Krhut & Kozub and appearing in the Tři Tygři project. In 2021, she released her debut album Vzpomněnky, later gaining wider attention with the viral track Rybí salát, featured in the film Jackpot. Alongside her Czech work, she is returning to writing in English, as heard in her latest single Starry Night. At Colours, she will present a cross-section of her music, built on a strong voice and a natural ability to move across different musical worlds.
