He is among the journalists who are present at major events on the ground – and at the same time can tell the story in a way that turns news from a stream of information into a clear, compelling narrative. He can engage even those who usually switch the news off.
He has worked for Czech Television since 2017. In recent years, he has reported from Poland, the Baltic states, and war-affected Ukraine. Since September 2025, he has been based in Istanbul, from where he covers developments in Turkey, the Balkans, and the Middle East.
He studied journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University and is a co-author of the documentaries The Last Revolution and The Year of Covid. In 2024, he was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 selection in the Media category. He speaks fluent English, French, Polish, and Russian.
He comes from a Greek family whose ancestors found a new home in Czechoslovakia after the Greek Civil War. In his youth, he played football for Baník Ostrava. Today, instead of a ball, he holds a microphone and maps the world as it truly is – up close, in the field, and without unnecessary shortcuts.
