Andreas Papadopulos

JOURNALIST, FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT

Andreas is one of those journalists who are always where something important is happening – and at the same time he knows how to tell stories in a way that makes even people who usually skip the news stop for a moment.

He has been working forCzech Television since 2017, and in recent years he has reported from Poland, the Baltics and war-torn Ukraine. Since September 2025, he has taken on a new mission – Istanbul, from where he covers events in Turkey, the Balkans and theMiddle East.

He studied journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and is the co-author of the documentaries Poslední revoluce and Rok covidu. In 2024, he was selected for the Forbes 30 under 30 list in the Media category. He speaks fluent English, French, Polish and Russian.

He comes from a Greek family whose ancestors found a new home in Czechoslovakia after the Greek Civil War. In his youth, he played football for Baník Ostrava, and his cousin is the successful footballer Michal Papadopulos. Today, instead of a ball, he holds a microphone – and he is one of those journalists who prove that honest journalism still matters.
