Abhejali Bernardová

Luxor LITERARY stage

swimmer, writer, seeker

As the tenth person in the world, Abhejali Bernardová completed the Oceans Seven challenge. You could say she is the best Czech swimmer you’ve probably never heard of. But in her story, the journey toward completing the “Seven Oceans” is far more compelling than the achievement itself. Her expeditions around the world are not only about swimming, but above all about journeys inward. Through meditation and by stepping beyond the limits of comfort and the familiar, she continues to discover herself. In her storytelling — later captured in the book Until the Water Runs Out — she reminds us that we are all capable of far more than we believe.

She is a vegetarian and has been practising meditation since the age of eighteen. She gives talks about self-transcendence at schools and companies, organises the six-hour swimming event Plavecká šestihodinovka, runs with the torch as part of the Peace Run, sings with the group Agnikana’s Group, and works as a translator.
