THEATRE AND STAND-UP ARE BACK 🎭 BEZRUČI, NEW CIRCUS AND A LITTLE EXISTENTIAL CRISIS ARE HEADING TO GONG 😂

Colours wouldn’t be complete without theatre – and this year is no exception. Gong will bring both humor and powerful stories.

On the main theatre stage in Gong, you can expect performances that blend humor, emotion and moments that might feel a little uncomfortable. ✨

Divadlo Petra Bezruče, with its production baníček, ale, ale, ale, dives into the world of Baník fandom and shows just how close the emotions of the stadium are to those on stage.

Losers Cirque Company bring Národní sbírka zlozvyků, a mix of contemporary circus and drama that, with a touch of irony, reminds us that none of us is completely without flaws. 😅

Husa na provázku, in Držím ti miesto, explores Czech-Slovak relationships with humor and perspective. Klicperovo divadlo then presents a tribute to Zuzana Navarová, A pak usnu a vstanu – a strong, personal project combining theatre and music that stays with you long after it ends.

This year, a smaller stage is joining the programme – Gong stage – Malý sál, where we’ll be watching everything up close.

Norway Today brings a powerful story of two people who meet with one shared plan – to leave the world behind. But instead of a final ending, something unexpected begins to unfold between them. On a completely different note, Shrex: Hra o přežití delivers generational chaos full of characters that feel uncomfortably familiar. 🤯 Slam Puppetry proves that even puppets can be surprisingly uncompromising when given the space.

And because sometimes the best response is simply to laugh at it all, there will be no shortage of improv and stand-up. Vosto5 return with their Stand’artní kabaret – always different, always a little out of control. 🎉 Nikola Džokič, in his show Balkan Express, pushes things right to the edge – and if we thought we understood the difference between Czechs and the Balkans, he might prove us wrong.

Tali, Eliška Soukupová and Kateřina Beran then show that even life’s messiest moments can be turned into well-monetized material. Pozor, humor. 🙃
