MELTINGPOT WITH 150 DISCUSSIONS: GUESTS INCLUDE NIR BARZILAI, DEIRDRE BARRETT, JOSEPH ALLEN, TMBK, AND DANA DRÁBOVÁ

For the eighth time, the Meltingpot discussion forum will be part of the Colours of Ostrava festival. This year’s edition will offer two hundred speakers from a wide range of professional fields. From July 16 to 19, visitors will once again find inspiration and education on topics such as health, longevity, movement, lifestyle, communication, technology, media, politics, sports, and culture.

The lineup will feature well-known names such as the duo Brain We Are or Petr Horký, complemented by Czech physicists, doctors, entrepreneurs, and athletes. From abroad, guests will include longevity expert Nir Barzilai, journalist Greg C. Bruno, and optometrist Joseph Allen. Also returning to the program are the traditional Storytelling Tent and Cacao Stage.

Following the release of the Colours of Ostrava schedule with more than 120 performances, Meltingpot is also revealing its program. This year’s edition will feature 200 personalities:
“Meltingpot has become an inseparable part of Colours of Ostrava. This year again, we offer our visitors the chance to open up to ideas without borders. Over 150 debates, lectures, and workshops reflect the current state of the world around us, as well as our personal, inner worlds. Whether you choose daily yoga, Czech Radio shows focusing on current geopolitical events, intimate stories in the Storytelling Tent, or the light-hearted ‘Tales from Tinder’, you’ll gain endless live information and firsthand experiences,” says program director Filip Košťálek. The eighth edition of Meltingpot will symbolically take place across eight stages, with programs starting before noon, except on the first day.

Among the biggest draws are international guests such as geneticist Nir Barzilai, psychologist Deirdre Barrett, optometrist and vision care promoter Joseph Allen, known as Doctor Eye Health, and former Bollywood star and Kundalini yoga teacher Bijay Anand.
“I’m thrilled about every confirmed guest – sometimes the negotiations take years. Our close-knit production and booking team puts together individual proposals to create a diverse palette of debates, discussions, and meetings. Figures like coach Phaedria Marie St. Hilaire or ocean rower Mick Dawson are not only reliable sources of inspiration but also embody and fulfill the values of our festival,” explains David Gonos on behalf of the team.

The Cacao Stage will open for the third time, bridging the musical world of Colours of Ostrava with the Meltingpot conference program. Theater is also an integral part. A traditional guest is Prague’s VOSTO5, which will perform in full formation. The audience will also enjoy an improv show by “My kluci, co spolu chodíme”, satire by “Naši fabulanti” from Ductus Deferens, and finally, film screenings introduced by guest presenters. The 20th anniversary of Extraordinary Tales of Madness will be commemorated by Ivan Trojan, Vladimir 518 will present the documentary Architecture of Czechoslovakia 58–89, and Karel Och will exclusively bring the feature debut Summer School, 2001 by Dužan Duong from the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Also part of the Meltingpot forum program will be a sales exhibition of technologies and products in the field of longevity, healthy lifestyle, physical and mental performance, Biohacking Expo. Over twenty exhibitors will present this year.

The general partner of this year’s edition is Schaeffler, which sees this collaboration as an opportunity to promote creative approaches and bring technology closer to the public.
“On the SCHAEFFLER GAMECHANGERS Stage, we’ll have a truly rich program. Personalities like Tomáš Šebek, Vladimír Beneš, Anna Hogenová, and Tim Gray are leaders in their fields. Technology and artificial intelligence are becoming an increasingly important part of our lives. Innovation, sustainability, and quality are core values at our company, and we’re happy to share them through events like Meltingpot,” says Lukáš Rosůlek, CEO of Schaeffler Czech Republic.

Among the main partners, as in previous years, are Česká spořitelna, ČEZ Group, and the statutory city of Ostrava. The MELTINGPOT 2025 project is co-financed by the Moravian-Silesian Region. The complete schedule of performances is available here.

The hour-by-hour schedule will be accessible in the app during June.
