We sort waste – paper, plastics, glass and cans. Please use the special colour-coded bins. Although the festival grounds will be cleaned regularly we would like to ask you to keep everything as clean and tidy as possible.
Waste sorting brings not only clean festivals!
In the festival area, you’ll find recycling bins at almost every step. Please sort plastics and cans into the yellow bins, and paper into the blue ones. In the campsites, you can also sort glass.
Please sort unpolluted packaging. Food residues belong in the mix! Thank you.
The sorted waste will be transported 15 km to a sorting facility. From there, it will be sent to recyclers and processed to the highest possible extent within the region. The goal is to ensure that the journey of used packaging to recycling is as eco-friendly as possible, with minimal carbon footprint.

Want to learn more about waste sorting and recycling? Visit the Clean Festival booth under the blast furnace by the elevator on the Bolt Tower. In addition to gaining new knowledge and having fun in the Sorting Workshop, you can also earn rewards for sorting your waste! Just bring ten or twenty plastic items or paper and exchange them for a scratch card. The scratch cards contain several practical recycled prizes. And this year, we’ve also got a reward for thirsty festival-goers. If you bring twenty sorted plastic items, like cups, you’ll receive a token for one free beer!
Since 2009, Colours of Ostrava has been a Clean Festival.
In addition to sorting your waste, you’ll also be helping us once again earn the Clean Festival certification. This certification is awarded by EKO-KOM, a.s. to responsible festivals that properly manage their waste and keep their venues clean.
