How do the inhabitants of Czech cities feel? Presentation of results of mapping the sense of security in three Czech cities. Where and why don’t we feel safe and what does the official statistics say?

He´s dedicated his career to geoinformatics. Since 2010 he´s worked at the Department of Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, VSB - Technical University of Ostrava where he successfully defended both his dissertation and habilitation theses. His scientific focus covers primarily quantitative methods in geography, space statistics and time-space analyses which he applies in the field of study of crime and transport. He has been engaged in many projects of basic and applied research. At present he is a team member of two projects dealing with analyses and predictions of crime. Throughout his career at the University he worked as the Head of the Department of Geoinformatics for over three years, he was the Vice-Dean for Science and Research at the Faculty of Mining and Geology for nearly one year and is the Vice-Rector for Commercialization and Cooperation with Industry now.
