The Tap Tap are not just a band – they are a phenomenon. Made up of students and graduates of the Jedlička Institute, the group has been proving for more than two decades that talent, perspective and a sense of humour know no barriers. Led by Šimon Ornest, they create an original blend of jazz, pop, rock and world music, powered by infectious energy and an irresistible live atmosphere.
The Tap Tap write songs full of wit, intelligent humour – sometimes unapologetically dark – and a deep sense of humanity that resonates across generations. Their journey has taken them from opera houses and even women’s prisons to international stages in Spain, the United Kingdom and Israel. In Ostrava, they will present a special show featuring their new album Retardér, while also marking twenty years since the release of their debut Hopšidyridy.
