Science and technology are not marginal topics. They shape the way we live. That is how Petr Koubský writes about them. He is the science and technology editor at Deník N and has long followed developments around artificial intelligence, digitalisation and cybersecurity – and what truly matters for society.
He began as a software developer and also worked as a research specialist at the former Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. He contributed to computer magazines such as Softwarové noviny and Inside and spent many years working as a freelance journalist. Technology, for him, is not just a subject to cover, but a field he has been part of himself.
He teaches science journalism at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc and at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno. He focuses on how to speak about complex issues in a way that is understandable even to those who do not work in the field professionally.
