Thirty years ago, under the production guidance of Jan P. Muchow and in collaboration with writer Jáchym Topol, Monika Načeva released Nebe je rudý, an album that is finally being issued on vinyl this year alongside a special anniversary tour. She first established herself as a singular artistic voice with her debut album Možnosti tu sou (1994), and over the decades has built a catalogue that many fans consider essential, formative and timeless.
Monika Načeva arrives at Colours of Ostrava with her current live project, created together with a band she describes as the strongest she has found in three decades. Joined by Vojtěch Procházka (keyboards, guitar), Michal Jarmil Koval (bass) and Zdeněk “Regal” Jurčík (drums), she builds on the creative chemistry heard on her latest album Jdem temným dnem (2024), which earned widespread critical acclaim and appeared in numerous year-end best-of lists.
