On Thursday, she’ll take the stage at Colours of Ostrava before heading straight to Tomorrowland, one of the world’s most prestigious electronic music festivals. Few things say more about the pace of her rise. Just a few years ago, she was known mainly within the bass house scene. Today, she’s a regular on festival line-ups across Europe, with her name appearing alongside some of electronic music’s biggest stars. Twenty-four-year-old Merow is from the Netherlands and has been DJing since the age of eleven, producing her own music from just fourteen. She became the first female artist signed to Martin Garrix’s STMPD RCRDS, with support from artists including Martin Garrix, Zedd and Nicky Romero. Alongside her own productions, she’s also building Bass Related, a community connecting the global bass music scene. On stage, she delivers high-energy bass house and house sets that barely give the crowd a chance to catch its breath.
