He operates in the space where business meets politics, power, and responsibility. He is interested in how major decisions are made, who makes them, under what pressure, and with what consequences – not only for companies, but for society as a whole.
Dr. Martin Roman served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of ČEZ from 2004 to 2011, where he led a major transformation of the group, its international expansion, and key strategic decisions. Prior to that, he was involved in the restructuring of industrial companies such as ŠKODA HOLDING and Janka Radotín, and he has long been active in the international energy sector, including as a member of the board of MOL.
Alongside business, he has long been involved in education and philanthropy – he is behind the initiative Čtení pomáhá and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PORG. At Meltingpot, he opens up themes of power, decision-making, and responsibility in the real world: what it means to lead a large institution in times of crisis, what compromises are actually made, and where personal comfort ends and responsibility for the consequences of one’s decisions begins.
