Cimbálová muzika Valašský vojvoda

Wine bar with cimbal music

A folk ensemble from Kozlovice continuing the long tradition of cimbalom bands and dance groups from the region around Mount Ondřejník. Founded in 1970 under the original name Ondřejník, the ensemble celebrated 55 years of existence last year. Some places preserve traditions in museums. Here, they keep them alive by playing, singing, and dancing. Much louder system, admittedly.

Their repertoire draws from the folk dances, songs, and customs of northern Wallachia, the Lašsko-Wallachian region, and the Moravian-Slovak borderlands. Over the years, the ensemble has performed at hundreds of festivals and cultural events, represented Czech folklore in 22 countries around the world, and received numerous awards for its distinctive approach to traditional folk culture.

Today, the ensemble continues under the leadership of Věra Tobolová, artistic directors Lenka Eliášová and Jakub Kahánek, and primáš musicians Filip Krpec and Jan Obtulovič. Their performances combine musical precision, energy, and a genuine joy for folklore that still has the power to bring generations together.
