Light and shadow, light in the cognition and freedom. Talking about different aspects of light and its influence on a person, their behaviour and thinking. Am I free if I have clear ideas?

Prof. RNDr. Vladimír Vašinek, CSc.
He deals with the problems of photonics, optic fibres, optic communications and fibre-optic sensors at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava. He cooperates with the industry, applies for patents and writes articles but above all he likes giving lectures and showing students connections of individual branches and the place and role of a man within them. He is fascinated by miscellaneous aspects of light, their reflections not only in a direct impact on a man but also in its figurative sense. Are the sayings – “You really showed your true colours!”; “I´ve been enlightened!”; “I can´t stand looking at it!” and others – mere language puns or do they have a relation with the physical and technical properties of the light?
