Once again this year we look forward to welcoming our ZTP and ZTP/P visitors, and to providing them with a range of new services. Thanks to them we believe, even more disabled visitors will come to our festival not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad.
Organized in conjunction with project partner ČPZP, the Colours Without Barriers project strives to make for these visitors the stay at the festival easier so they can enjoy the music and other programme in an attractive wheelchair accessible area of Dolní Vítkovice (DOV) without having to worry about a thing.
Besides all the usual services and benefits you were used to from past we are excited to introduce you some new additions. These include especially extended service for our visually and hearing impaired visitors.
For visually impaired visitors, we have prepared basic information in a practical guidebook in Braille, a tactile plan of the site with all the festival scenes and a special 3D tactical model of the Auditorium Gong. For visitors with hearing disabilities we offer selected lectures of the Meltingpot discussion forum interpreted with sign language. Even selected concerts of Czech and foreign bands will be interpreted.
For several years already, the standard service covers the discounted ticket cost for ZTP and ZTP/P card holders, a free ticket for one person accompanying the visitor with ZTP/P card, special grandstands, wheelchair accessible transport within Ostrava city or the option of booking a trained assistant, which is free of charge.
We arrange for disabled visitors wheelchair accessible accommodation at hotels in Ostrava within their capacity. We also offer these visitors the opportunity to book a place in a festival Tent City, including a parking space. It is also possible to book a parking space directly at the main site entrance.
To help the disabled visitors to find their way around, It will be available a special guidebook with a map, an information center Colours Without Barriers Info Point located right in front of the main site entrance and a separate Colours Without Barriers ticket office where the visitors can purchase a discounted ticket to the festival.
