Their dances include Fandango, Chimbapuru, and the Inti Raymi festival celebrations. But this is more than folklore \u2014 it\u2019s a way of life. Humazapas\u2019 music is deeply rooted in mythology, nature, and the collective memory of mountain villages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond the concert stage, they act as cultural activists: running the Waruntzy school where children learn to build instruments, play music, and dance; organising the Turu Uku festival; and supporting young flautists through the Ura Urku project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their debut album, <em>Sara Mama<\/em> (2023), is a bold fusion of traditional Kichwa music and modern arrangements \u2014 a powerful statement that indigenous culture is not a thing of the past, but a vibrant voice of the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Humazapas is a young traditional group from the Ecuadorian Andes, made up of musicians and dancers from the Turuku community in Imbabura province.
