Because for the first time in the history of microchips, semiconductor bits are being replaced by a completely different technology based on magnets. This new approach is known as spintronics. Manufacturers of advanced chip technologies have already begun incorporating spintronic bits into the memory components of microprocessors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The transition to spintronic bits is taking place because further miniaturisation of conventional semiconductor bits has become prohibitively expensive and is increasingly approaching fundamental physical limits.
