Petr Hor\u00e1lek is the Czech representative to the International Dark-Sky Association, the first Czech Photo Ambassador of the European Southern Observatory, and the author of several photography books. His images have repeatedly been selected as ESO\u2019s Picture of the Week, NASA\u2019s Astronomy Picture of the Day, and Czech Astrophotograph of the Month. In recognition of his international achievements in astrophotography, asteroid 6822 Hor\u00e1lek was named in his honour.
