Prof.&nbsp;Tom\u00e1\u0161 Gongol, Ph.D., has served as Rector of the&nbsp;Silesian University in Opava&nbsp;since 2023, although he has been connected to the university for more than twenty years as both a lecturer and Vice-Rector. During his time there, he has introduced a number of changes, including new approaches to teaching, a modern perspective on education, and study programmes inspired by the real world and the needs of contemporary society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the discussion, he will show that a modern university does not have to be boring or disconnected from reality.
